Description of program:

The Education Academy provides students an opportunity to explore education as a career field. In addition to coursework at CACC, students will extern at various K-12 educational sites within the Calhoun Intermediate School District. Local educators act as preceptors. Students will examine the multiple responsibilities and roles of a K-12 teacher; effective teaching practices; human growth and development; develop an understanding of school structures, operations and policies; and explore critical issues in education.
