Mathematics

Calhoun ISD provides member districts with mathematics professional development to meet our district math needs based on their achievement data.

We also provide assistance in developing a coherent curriculum including resource selection.

The following initiatives are currently underway at Calhoun ISD:

Fractions

This four day workshop, based on the Prom/se fractions courses offered at The Summer Institute, will develop an understanding of different concepts related to fractions. We will explore interpretations of fractions, and models for fractions, and operations on fractions. We will examine strategies to help students develop an understanding of the underlying mathematics and of the connection of fractions to decimals and percents.
