The Healthy School Summit is an annual event sponsored by the Calhoun Intermediate School District and a number of its school and community partners. Each year the planning committee focuses on areas of a Coordinated School Health Program (CSHP). The focus of the 2010-2011 Summit was local success stories in nutrition and physical activity. Local districts presented their success stories and demonstrated how they were able to accomplish their goal. The local school wellness teams complete an action plan each year and commit to implementing the plan. Because of the success of the past six Summits, the planning committee will continue to offer a free Summit annually, during the first week of October, to help schools improve in all areas of CSHP.
