Welcome to the Calhoun ISD Collaborative

Social Studies Curriculum Project

Goal:

To provide time, facilitation, and resources for collaborative social studies curriculum planning and alignment to new social studies Grade Level Content Expectations and High School Content Expectations.

Outcome:

Common social studies curriculum documents for all participating districts, including:

- GLCE/Objectives-

What students need to know and be able to do

- Common assessments-

We will suggest formative assessments and provide

  summative assessments, aligned with GLCE

- Pacing guide (by unit) based on 175 days-

Districts with a different number of days could adjust

- Lessons with materials embedded-primary and

  secondary resources

- Integration with math and ELA

- Column for districts to enter their own

   materials/textbooks

- Contributing districts/contacts (for questions)

SCoPE /MC3 will be used as a model for developing

our curriculum; we will look at it first and adapt it as

  needed

- For 3rd and 4th grades, we will follow GLCEs as written

  in regard to Michigan History
