Parent Advisory Committee

The Parent Advisory Committee consists of parents of students with disabilities representing each local district and each impairment category within the Calhoun Intermediate School District. This is a state-mandated committee that allows parents to have an active role in the Special Education process. The primary purpose of the committee is to involve parents in the development of the CISD Plan for the delivery of Special Education Programs and Services.

A parent is nominated to this committee by his or her local school district board of education, then appointed for a three-year term by the CISD Board of Education.

The Parent Advisory Committee meetings are open to all interested parties and are held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from September through May at CISD, 17111 G Drive North, Marshall. For more information about the committee or the specific schedule of the meetings, please call the Special Education Department at CISD, (269) 789-2460.
