Adult Training Program
The Calhoun Intermediate School District's Adult Training Program (ATP) will provide data-driven progressive experiences in all four domains of transition:
- Adult Living
- Community Participation
- Post-Secondary Education & Training
Functional Curriculum objectives are addressed through the Universal Learning Systems (ULS) and provides lessons in the following areas: functional academics, personal care and relationships, self-determination and personal career awareness and healthy lifestyles.
Small business opportunities and work based learning experiences provides students with a lot of hands on opportunities. Community work based learning sites have included Sam's Club, Macy's, Petco, Bickford Cottage, Walgreens, and many more. ATP small business opportunities include Perky's Coffee, Classy Tee's, Classic Beadwork, Car Detailing, and ATP shippers. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in a collaborative work experience at KCC.
The program is implemented with high expectations and accountability for students, family and staff. The Adult Training Program promotes student independence and self-advocacy that lead to a dignified, meaningful adult life.
