The Finance packages used by Calhoun ISD and its constituent school districts are WISE and SMART. Through these packages, school districts are able to manage financial data for the purposes of:
Accounts Payable
Budget Reporting
State Reporting
FID Submission
GASB34 Requirements
Cash Receipts/Journal Entry Recording
Import Purchase Card Transactions
Electronic Requisitions/Purchase Orders
General Ledger and Trial Balances
Financial Statements
Year End Processing and 1099's
Transaction Analysis Lookup
Standardized and Custom Reports
Exporting data to various spreadsheets/databases
The Simplified Management Analysis and Reporting Tool (SMART) Finance program is a user friendly, PC-based query and reporting tool that uses a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for queries from the finance, requisition and payroll systems through the Transaction Analysis Module. This allows easy retrieval of financial information for anyone this clearance is granted.
The SMART Finance system provides a self-balancing, double-entry, multi-fund accounting system that is compliant with the revised 1022 Michigan School Accounting code for K-12 public schools. All data entry is done in the SMART Finance Program via the various modules, ie, Cash Receipts, Accounts Receivable, Journal Entry, Ledger Maintenance, Vendor Maintenance, Accounts Payable Invoices & Check Processing, Budgeting, Requisitions & Purchase Orders, etc. All most ALL of Wayne RESA's and CDOT's school districts are using the SMART Finance System. RESA has two districts yet to migrate, and CISD/CDOT also has two districts yet to migrate.
