Every CACC program is tuition-free, hands-on, and built with the employers hiring in Calhoun County. Nineteen programs are open to juniors and seniors from all Calhoun County school districts.

Advanced Allied Health Clinical skills, patient care, and a direct line into nursing and medical programs after graduation.

Agriscience Greenhouse production, animal science, and a working plant sale that teaches business from the ground up.

Allied Health Students will receive an introduction to a variety of health career skills.

Automotive Service Technology Diagnose and repair real vehicles, then leave with ASE-aligned credentials employers ask for by name.

Aviation Exploration Aviation Exploration is designed for students interested in any career in the aviation industry, and offers college credit for their work.

Collision Repair Technology Students learn basic hands-on skills including sheet metal repair, M.I.G. welding, plasma arc cutting, body repair, and other collision related tasks.

Construction Technology Students develop practical and intellectual skills needed in construction trades.

Culinary Arts & Hospitality Run a working kitchen, earn your ServSafe certification, and cook for real customers before you graduate.

Early Childhood Education Students will gain skills and knowledge in development, discipline, health, safety, communication, planning, preparing, and presenting activities.

Education Academy Students will examine the multiple responsibilities and roles of K-12 teachers, classroom management, learning styles, instruction, curriculum, and professional skills.

Graphic Communications Technology Students use professional graphic software programs to design print and digital media.

Law Enforcement / Criminal Justice Students will explore and prepare for careers in criminal justice, corrections, and related fields.

Mechatronics This program combines robotics and engineering. Students will learn electrical, mechanical and fluid power principles.

Medium/Heavy Truck and Diesel Technology Students learn to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment from weed whackers to generators, to riding mowers and semi trucks.

Networking & Cybersecurity Build and defend live networks, and sit for industry certifications while still in high school.

Programming and Video Game Design Students will learn to code 2D and 3D video games and other associated skills, such as photo editing, to use in their games.

Welding Technology Strike your first arc in September and test for AWS certification before you finish the year.

Who We Are

The Calhoun Area Career Center (CACC) prides itself on providing 18 traditional programs and 2 Early Middle College programs for area 11th and 12th-grade students.

The CACC, a public school, located in Battle Creek, Michigan, offers career and technical education (CTE) for 11th and 12th graders in public and private school districts, throughout the Calhoun Intermediate School District (CISD). Since opening in 1970, over 42,000 students have attended the CACC.

Programs have been designed to assist students by integrating academic knowledge and career/technical skills with the flexibility to meet the individual student's needs. The involvement and support of business and industry have been a key component to the CACC's success. Employers want students to be prepared in the areas of science, mathematics, and technology; as well as have problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills. The CACC staff believes that ALL students should graduate from high school with career and technical skills that support success in their chosen career path.
