Automotive Service Technology
The Auto Service Technology (AST) Program prepares students for entry-level positions in the automotive industry. The automotive areas of brakes and electricity/electronics are emphasized.
Instruction is provided in the areas of engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxles, steering and suspension, heating and air conditioning and engine performance. In addition, extensive instruction is given on basic automotive skills such as hand tools, power tools, oxygen/acetylene torch operation, and shop safety. AST utilizes the ASE Educational Foundation program standards.
