Allied Health

The Allied Health program is a comprehensive, one-year course for high school students interested in healthcare but undecided about which career path to pursue. This program exposes students to a wide range of traditional and non-traditional medical occupations while preparing them for both entry-level employment and advanced post-secondary health science studies.

Throughout the course, students build essential core competencies in human structure and function, diseases and disorders, medical terminology, medical mathematics, and healthcare delivery systems. Practical lab exercises emphasize strict safety standards and clinical skills, including universal precautions, infection control, proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), biohazard disposal, and emergency safety protocols. Additionally, participating students can earn valuable, industry-recognized credentials in Basic Life Support CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Stop the Bleed training. 

By combining rigorous academic instruction with hands-on technical skills, the Allied Health program provides the foundational experience needed to excel in the healthcare field.
